Burgh House Wedding Photography
The day for Sarah started a few minutes away from the wedding venue of Burgh House, as they had rented an flat through Air BnB for the Bride to get ready. As anyone who has read this blog more than once, I do love Bridal Prep as it gives a real insight into the emotion of the day and gives an introduction to the story of the wedding day. I find that wedding photos that just start at the ceremony can be a bit jarring as there is obviously plenty that has happened in the day before that moment.

The flat that Sarah and Garrett had rented was lovely and bright so I was immediately happy. Sarah had three Bridesmaids and two hyperactive nephews which is a good formula for a busy morning of photography. If you have a look through the Bridal Brep photos below there are some lovely moments and emotions captured, even if I do say so myself!
After everyone was looking fantastic, it was time to move onto the venue of Burgh House in Hampstead. The history of this amazing house is far too detailed for me to list here in full, but briefly, it was built in 1704 and used in a variety of manners from a barracks to the home of Rudyard Kipling's daughter. As well as a modern-day wedding venue, it’s also the Hampstead Museum. The ceremony had a piano player at the front which was a lovely touch, and drinks afterward were served around in the building’s various grand rooms which allowed me to get involved in the documentary photography I enjoy so much.
The Bride & Groom had decided to hire an old London bus to take the guests from Burgh House to the reception venue of The Peasant pub on the corner of St John Street and Percival Street in EC1V. However there was a small problem, the bus couldn't get up the small roads around Burgh House in Hampstead! A 20-minute walk later everything was back on track!
The day finished at The Peasant with some great speeches, lots of laughter and tears, and an evening of drinking and dancing.
Congratulations to Sarah and Garrett!
