Bride and Groom on their wedding day at Ealing Abbey

I first met Amanda & Nicolas over a coffee at Westfield near my house in Shepherds Bush. Nicolas studied film at University and had a very detailed eye when it came to photography, so when they picked me to be their photographer for their special day it truly was an honour that I matched Nicolas' high standards and attention to detail.

The day started off at Amanda's house in Ealing, where I took a photo that I have recently written an individual blog post about as it is one of my favourite bridal prep photos I have ever taken! The ceremony itself was at Ealing Abbey Catholic Church of St Benedict, which really is a hidden gem in West London. I think the only church that I have photographed a wedding at that can top this is St Pauls, and that really is saying something! After a lovely ceremony, everyone moved on to Trailfinders, where I witnessed some of the most emotional speeches and great dancing I have ever seen.

My favourite part of Amanda & Nicolas' day was the amount of genuine emotion that ran through the entire day. Sometimes weddings can feel shackled by the amount of formality involved, but this really wasn't the case here. Everywhere I looked there were tears, smiles and most importantly, hugs! I love photographing hugs at weddings so this was like Christmas for me.

After I delivered the full set of photos to Amanda & Nicolas I received some lovely feedback from the Bride & Groom:

"Outstanding quality and impeccable execution. Matthew was virtually invisible during our wedding, which I never thought I would consider it to be important. Trust me, you don't want the photographer showing up at every turn on your video (if you have one), or even worse, directing the event and making it awkward. None of this happened with Matthew.

He was perfectly professional before, during and after. We got a load of photos, as promised, and the time-frame from the event to pics delivery was spot on. In terms of his approach, he will not do lots of "posing" but he can if you need him to. However, he excels at the documentary / photo journalism style.

If you want great results, let him do his thing. You won't regret it.As far as pricing is concerned, perfectly where it needs to be. Not cheap, but not extreme either and he does offer different packages. All in all, a definite must consider if you're shopping around for a wedding photographer."
