Newland Hall Wedding Photography

What a great venue Newland Hall is. In the heart of the Essex Countryside, this fantastic Grade II listed Tudor manor house offers bags of charm as a wedding venue. It gives options for a ceremony to be held indoors or outdoors, dedicated and enthusiastic staff, and a beautiful setting in the countryside.

Althea and Moses were married at Newland Hall in July of this year. The most fascinating part of this wedding for me was to see how two cultures of marriage integrated in this wedding day, with parts of British and Nigerian cultures coming together. Check out the first dance photos near the end of this collection, they are great. Althea and Moses did two first dances, one more of a British first dance, and the 2nd one of Nigerian influence. In my humble opinion, the Nigerian first dance won hands down!

Unfortunately for most of the day, it rained very heavily, but luckily Newland Hall has plenty of options both indoors and outdoors so the day was not impacted. Due to the rain, the amount of time we had for Bride & Groom outdoor photography was extremely limited. However, we got some shots right at the end of the day as the sun was setting with Althea & Moses in their traditional Nigerian attire. Although it’s not my traditional style of photography, I think the final shot perfectly represents the day itself, a coming together of British and Nigerian cultures.
