All Saints West Dulwich Wedding Photography
For several years, I lived in Streatham Hill and thought I knew South London pretty well. So when I first discovered All Saints Church in West Dulwich, I was genuinely surprised. Hidden away on a quiet residential street, this impressive church is a real gem — grand, full of character, and a fantastic setting for **wedding photography in London**.
Many of the London weddings I photograph take place in registry offices or smaller venues, each with their own charm. But photographing a wedding at a large and modern church like All Saints West Dulwich is always something special. The light, the architecture, and the atmosphere combine perfectly for elegant, natural wedding photos that truly tell the story of the day.
A Beautiful Summer Wedding at All Saints West Dulwich
Fran and Henry’s All Saints West Dulwich wedding took place on a bright, sunny day in June — perfect weather for wedding photography. The church provided a stunning backdrop, with plenty of space and light for creative compositions during the ceremony and before it began.
One thing I’ve learned as a documentary wedding photographer in London is that timing is everything. I always encourage couples not to start their group shots immediately after the ceremony. That moment — right after you’re married — is filled with emotion, hugs, laughter, and congratulations. It’s the heart of the day, and those fleeting, authentic moments are what make documentary photography so powerful.
There’s nothing worse than disrupting that energy with staged group photos. A skilled and experienced wedding photographer knows when to step back and capture genuine emotion rather than orchestrating it — and that makes a huge difference to how your wedding day feels and flows.
Relaxed Wedding Reception at The Paxton, Gipsy Hill
After a few relaxed and well-organised group photos, everyone headed to The Paxton in Gipsy Hill, Fran and Henry’s local pub, for the reception. The garden was bathed in sunshine, and guests were in great spirits — chatting, laughing, and celebrating together.
For me, this was a dream to photograph. I love being able to blend in and document real moments — the smiles, the interactions, the atmosphere. This is what documentary wedding photography in London is all about: authentic storytelling through natural, candid imagery.
Although Fran and Henry had booked me for just four hours, we captured a complete story — from the ceremony through to the speeches. Their final gallery reflects the warmth, laughter, and love of the day beautifully.
