Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham
I have always found Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham something of a hidden gem, so I was delighted when Kat and Gavin asked me to photograph their wedding there.
Twickenham Wedding
I had met Kat and Gavin at the venue beforehand at a pre-wedding meeting to talk through the day. They seemed like a lovely couple and were very excited to capture their wedding. On the day itself I heard quite a few familiar accents from Kat’s family, which sounded suspiciously like they were from North East Lanchashire where I am originally from. Low and behold, not only were our familys from the same area of the world but Kat and I had been to the same college, Holy Cross in Bury! It’s that point I realised we went to Holy Cross about 20 years apart and I have never felt so old.
A Wedding next to the Thames
After recovering from feeling ancient, I enjoyed photographing one of my favourite wedding venues in West London. What it lacks in size, it makes up with stunning architecture and internal decor. On top of this, it has some excellent open spaces for a bit of couple’s photography. Put it all together and you have the complete package for a London wedding venue.
Richmond Hill
The wedding reception was being held at Putney Town Rowing Club, and on the way there we stopped off on Richmond Hill to get a few more couple’s photos. Most of my photography with the Bride and Groom is natural (scroll down to see some examples) but occasionally a more formal, posed shot is caused for , like in the photo above outside the The Royal Star and Garter Home.
Putney Town Rowing Club
Kat and Gavin are very keen rowers, and decided to have their reception at their rowing club Putney Town. Based right on the river (obviously), its just next to Chiswick Bridge and for you Taskmaster fans, a stones throw from the Taskmaster House.
Kat and Gavin obviously feel right at home at their second home of Putney Town Rowing Club, and the rest of the day was filled with drinks, food, laughter and dancing.
